Opal Cottage 30th June

We have had a lovely holiday based here in Opal Cottage.  Very Comfortable.  It's two years since we last came.  We have visited some places which we didn't last time. We ate at the Grapes on Wednesday evening.  The food was excellent.  Everywhere we have eaten out has been very good.  We hope to come again.  Thank you.

Mr & Mrs Swain 9th June

in Opal Cottage, could not wish for more.  Everything you need.  First time in Yorkshire, although mixed weather it has not stopped us getting out and about everyday.  Enjoyed Robin Hood Bay for its old traditional feel, the RSPB at Bempton was interesting although we are not dedicated bird watchers.  We found Sandsend Bay - good rock pools etc when tide is out - also at Bampton we saw puffins.  Thank you Heather and Richard for your hospitality - we will hope to return in the future.

"Fab accommodation, faultless, thanks for a relaxing week."

This family were our very first guests in Opal Cottage in 2011 and came again in April 2018.

Our holiday was a success

Riding our bikes in the forest

Kids had a great time

Summer fun here at Basin Howe

Happy days hunting for fossils

Interesting places to visit

Rolling Hills

Everyday a new adventure!

Best place we have stayed in. We loved the peace & quiet. Our favourite things this holiday were - Malton for shops - Helmsley for the Walled Garden and quirky café - Falling Foss for its tearoom and waterfall - Denison Arms for the food and Robin Hoods Bay for the steep walk back to the car park.

We had a fabulous week at Opal Cottage, despite the wet weather! We enjoyed visiting Bempton Cliffs, Filey, The Birds of Prey Centre at Helmsley and walks across the Moors and the coast. Basin Howe Farm is a beautiful place to stay and the cottage is perfect. We hope to be back in Yorkshire soon!
